Private house, Edburton, East Sussex
Set within the beautiful countryside of Edburton in East Sussex, this carefully considered residential project brings together warm contemporary aesthetics with the seamless versatility of Microtopping®. Designed in close collaboration with the homeowners, each space was tailored to create a cohesive yet distinctive atmosphere throughout the property.
The largest area within the project is the expansive open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, where Microtopping® was applied across the floor in the ever-popular colour Smoke. To create additional depth and character, darker tones were incorporated into the base layers beneath the final finish, producing subtle movement and variation throughout the surface. This thoughtful approach gives the floor a rich, organic appearance that responds beautifully to changing natural light while complementing the calm and refined interior palette of the home.
The ground floor bathroom and adjoining steam room were finished in the striking colour Marine, introducing a deeper and more atmospheric feel to the wellness-inspired space. The seamless application across the walls enhances the sense of continuity while perfectly suiting the moisture-resistant requirements of the room. In contrast, the ensuite shower room was completed in Smoke, creating a softer and more understated aesthetic that harmonises elegantly with the rest of the house.
Every detail of the project was carefully considered alongside the owners to ensure the final result reflected both the architecture of the property and the way the spaces would be experienced day to day. The installation was beautifully carried out by The Micro Cement Company, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship and the timeless versatility of Microtopping® across floors and walls alike.
