This bespoke residential kitchen project in Brighton features a refined Microtopping® installation designed to bring together contemporary detailing, practicality, and mineral tone. Applied across the kitchen worktops and splashback, the seamless decorative concrete finish creates a calm and cohesive aesthetic that complements the timber cabinetry and oak flooring throughout the space.
Installed by The Micro Cement Company, the Microtopping® finish in Beige Grey introduces a soft mineral appearance with subtle tonal variation, adding texture and depth without overwhelming the minimalist interior palette. The continuous surface treatment enhances the linear design of the kitchen while creating a visually uninterrupted flow across preparation areas, upstands, and integrated features.
A standout element of the project is the custom-formed draining board and inset sink detail, where the seamless microcement finish has been carefully shaped around the basin to create a highly functional yet sculptural focal point within the kitchen. The smooth transitions and monolithic appearance reinforce the bespoke nature of the joinery while highlighting the versatility of Microtopping® for tailored residential applications.
