As decorative finishes, there are many ways in which Ideal Work systems can be applied to achieve different aesthetic, for example by changing the mixing ratio or the application method itself (trowelled, sprayed, sponged or using decorative rollers and tools).
Yes! Our Barrier Cem and mesh preparation makes Ideal Work wall finishes suitable for application directly onto tiles. The tiles must be secure, and not wobbly or cracked.
Walls should ideally be smooth, prepared as if they were going to be painted. Plastered walls are the best, but Ideal Work wall finishes can also be applied to substrates such as cement board (incl Wediboard, Acquapanel), dry lining and plywood.
Absolutely. Ideal Work micro cement has been used in wet rooms for 25 years, with sealers making the systems waterproof.
Yes! Ideal Work wall finishes are applied by hand and so can be applied onto ceilings, with the same substrate requirements as walls.
A sealer is not always required, but will assist in creating a more durable finish that’s easy to clean. Sealers will also assist in making the finishes more resistant to scratches and staining. All of our sealers are UV stable so will not yellow or discolour over time.
