Born in Italy…
The story of Ideal Work UK started in 2008 in the Italian hilltop village of Asolo, where the husband and wife team John Walter and Nicole Kreel met Ideal Work.
Nicole was presenting her MBA course on “Law in the context of International Business” to an unsuspecting audience including Luca Seminati and Maurizio Pontello, owners of a then-modest sized SME, Ideal Work srl. John, who’d moved from the UK to Paris at 18 years old to start his career in building and decorative trades, was meanwhile in the process of building their family home in the nearby Borgo of Liedolo.

A strong friendship and working relationship was forged between Nicole and John, and Luca and Maurizio so, when Ideal Work were looking to consolidate their presence in the UK 4 years later, Nicole and John offered to “have a go” and swapped the hills of the pre-dolomites for the glorious Sussex Downs, and a good meal at a trattoria for a solid diet of Radio 4!
John’s technical background paired with Nicole’s legal business background equipped them well for the challenges that the last ten years have brought. With a capable UK team growing each year, the team’s focus is on developing and supporting relationships with design professionals, building contractors, and, most importantly, installers so that the Ideal Work brand can maintain its excellent reputation for high quality, and durable floor and wall finishes.
The pair established the business first in Lewes, and in 2024 saw their move to larger premises in Hailsham where the company is able to offer extended training opportunities as well as “Deep Dive” events with Architects and Designers into the incredible world of Ideal Work Microcement and Decorative Finishes.
Ideal Work UK is able to offer a next day delivery service, support, and training, as well as the highest level of technical know-how.
